Connie Luyt was baptized Ena Constantia Roux in Malmesbury in the Cape. Her parents moved to Salisbury in former Rhodesia where she started school in English. When she was eleven, they moved back to Johannesburg. She received a BA with English, Afrikaans and History as her majors at Tukkies, where she also met her husband, Daan Luyt.
They have three children and three grandchildren. Connie only started writing for publication in the 1990s. There are six of her own books on her shelf and several of her short stories and articles have appeared in magazines.
